Kyle Bove finished 2nd at the Regional Tournament this past Saturday. Kyle will take his first trip to States this Thursday!

Distritct 1 Central Tournament

The Blue Demons sent three wrestlers to Spring Ford High School to participate in the District 1 Central Tournament on February 23, 2008.

Kyle and Josh will advance next Friday night to the Regional tournament at Council Rock South High School.

Great Valley Invitational

Kennett High School traveled to Great Valley High School for the Great Valley Invitational.

The Blue Demons finished third as a team with 148 points.  Downingtown West finished in 2nd and Great Valley won the tournament.

9 Kennett wrestlers made the trip to Elizabeth, New Jersey to wrestle in the second of 8 wrestling tournaments.

Long Branch, New Jersey (Great "8" Series)

A few Kennett wrestlers wrestled in the first of eight New Jersey wrestling tournaments.

2007.03.04 - Update

States Missed by 2 Points

Kyle Bove missed states by 2 points.  He lost 4-2 in the semi finals and lost 2-0 in the semi consolation round.  We are very proud of Kyle; he had an amazing season.  Kyle finished the season with a record of 39-6.  After just two years with the Blue Demons Kyle has compiled a record of 68-11.  

Thank you for a fantastic and exciting season Kyle!

2007.03.02 - Update

Kyle Bove advances to Regionals

Kyle wrestled in the PIAA AAA District 1 Central Wrestling tournament on February 24th.  Kyle won his first match of the day against the number 2 place winner from the other section in impressive fashion.  In the semi finals, Kyle defeated the number 1 seed from section 4.  In the finals, Kyle defeated the number 1 seed from the other section crowning him District Champion!  Kyle is the first Kennett District Champion since Tyler Jones did it in 2001.

2007.03.02 - Update

Kennett Wrestlers Advance to Districts

Kyle Bove and Chris Myers wrestled in the PIAA AAA section IV wrestling tournament on February 17th.  Chris finished 4th at 130 pounds while Kyle finished 3rd at 119 pounds.  They both will wrestle next weekend in the District Tournament.  Good Luck!

Kennett High School opened the 2006-2007 wrestling season this Saturday at Great Valley. Nate Ratliffe took Second Place in the JV tournament, Ian Grigsby took 4th place at 125 pounds, David Avalos (152) and Josh Trykowski (160) placed 3rd, Kyle Bove was the CHAMPION at 119 pounds

Lewistown Panther Open Tournament

On Saturday, a few Kennett wrestlers traveled to Lewistown, Pennsylvania for the Lewistown Panther Open tournament. After a very tough day of wrestling, two Kennett wrestlers brought home hardware. David Avalos won his first tournament and Victor Ortega placed in his first tournament. Congratulations and keep up the hard work.

2006.03.29 - Update

M.A.W.A. Districts in Newark, Delaware

On Saturday, March 25, 2006 Colton Chew, Austen Eckel, David Avalos, and Matt Body all placed 3rd in the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Associations District Tournament at Newark High School.  All four will wrestle next weekend in Salisbury, Maryland at the Regional Tournament.  Congratulations and Good Luck!

2006.03.05 - Update

Avalos falls 2 points shy of State Tournament

After a tough day of wrestling at the Southeast Regional tournament it came down to one match. Avalos vs Bjorhus of Connestoga. The winner would advance to the State Tournament. In a very controversal match Kennett's Andres Avalos loses 7-5. Thank you for a FANTASTIC season Andres. Good Luck in your future plans.

2006.03.05 - Update

Avalos Advances to Regionals

Andres Avalos placed 5th in the PIAA AAA District tournament at Spring Ford High School last weekend. The fifth place finish qualified Andres for the Southeast Regional Tournament at Norristown High School. This will be Andres' second trip to the Regional tournament. If Andres places in the top 4 he will advance to the State Tournament. Good Luck Andres!

Andres Avalos advances to Districts by placing third at the PIAA AAA Sectional tournament in Boyertown last weekend. Congratulations Andres!

2006.02.06 - Update

Kennett Travels to Pequea Duals

Kennett places 5th at the Pequea duals this weekend. Kennett 3-2 on the day earned victories over East Pennsboro (51-27), Twin Valley (30-28), and Haverford (42-34). Kennett's only defeats came against Pequea Valley (19-60) and Eastern York (35-42). Kyle Bove and Andres Avalos both went 5-0 on the day. David Avalos, John Marinangeli, and Andrew Jackson all went 4-1 on the day. Kennett's overall record improved to 9-9. The Blue Demons final match is Tuesday night against Great Valley!

2006.02.06 - Update

Unionville

Kennett loses 56-20 to school rival Unionville. Andres Avalos (152) and Tim Curtis (171) earned falls for Kennett. A few bright spots for Kennett included Kyle Bove (112) earning an impressive 9-0 victory over Unionville's Fischer. Bove beat Fischer by one point in the finals of Kennett Invitational earlier this season. Also in dramatic fashion Josh Trykowski (160) shuts down Unionville's Popham by the score of 9-0. Popham pinned Trykowski earlier this season at the Kennett Invitational. Way to go Blue Demons!

Garnet Valley

Kennett loses 57-17 to league rival Garnet Valley . Andrew Jackson (125) earned the only fall for the Blue Demons. Kyle Bove (112), David Avalos (145), and Andres Avalos (171) also won for Kennett.

Octorara

Octorara was to strong for Kennett Wednesday night and handed the Blue Demons their third straight league loss. Kennett (0-3) in league competition and (6-5) overall are still plagued by injuries. Austen Eckel, David Avalos, and Kyle Bove looked impressive for the Blue Demons. Next up Garnet Valley!

2006.01.21 - Update

Kennett Invitational 2006

The Blue Demons hosted its annual Kennett Invitational on Saturday, January 21, 2006. The Blue Demons finished in sixth place. Josh Trykowski (160) looked impressive with a 15-0 victory to earn him third place for the day. John Marinangeli finished the day with a second place medal while Kyle Bove pulled out a reversal at the buzzer to earn gold. Congratulations boys! Keep up the hard work!

Injuries Hurt Blue Demons

Just when things were looking up for the Kennett Blue Demons three key injuries slim out the line up against league rival Oxford. In a tough match Thursday night Kennett watched its league record fall to 0-2 and its overall record drop to 6-4 while Andrew Jackson earned the only victory for Kennett. Kennett lost its second straight league meet to Oxford 45-30. Next up for the team is the Kennett Invitational. Good Luck!

Kennett Drops League Opener

Kennett drops league opener to Avon Grove. Kennett battled back from 30-6 to make the score 30-25 only to watch its next four wrestlers lose and evanutally fall to the Red Devils by the score of 51-25. Kyle Bove (112), Austen Eckel (140), and David Avalos (145) earned falls for the Blue Demons in a losing effort. The Blue Demons drop to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Blue Demons 6-2, win over Penn Wood

Blue Demons push record to 6-2 with 49-25 win over Penn Wood. Tim Curtis (171), Kyle Bove (112), and Andres Avalos (152) all won by technical fall. Tristan Miller (189) in his first match this season earns a first period pin. Welcome back Tristan! Mike Mingoini (135) had the other fall for the Blue Demons.

2005.12.30 - Update

2005 Tiger Classic

At the 2005 Tiger Classic Josh Trykowski (160) placed eighth, Andres Avalos (152) placed seventh, Kyle Bove (112) placed 4 th and Ricci Thompson (215) placed 3rd. All of the boys did a great job at this 27 team two day tournament held at A.I. duPont High School. The Kennett Blue Demons overall record this year is 5-2.

2005.12.21 - Update

Blue Demons 4-1, Finish 3rd at Ridley

The Blue Demons beat Cheltenham 39-31, Ben Franklin 49-30, Northeast 45-30, and Interboro 43-36. Their only loss was to eventual champion Ridley 60-17. Kyle Bove (10-0) went 5-0 at 112 pounds with 4 pins and a technical fall. Andres Avalos (10-0) went 5-0 with 2 pins, a regular decision and 2 overtime decisions. Going 4-1 on the day were John Marinangeli (130), David Avalos (145), Josh Trykowski (160), Tim Curtis (171), and Ricci Thompson (215). The Blue Demons current record is 5-2 overall.

2005.12.22 - Update

Great Valley Tourney: Blue Demons Place 6th

Kennett finished 6th place at the Great Valley Tournament.Freshman Kyle Bove and Senior Andres Avalos earned gold. Senior Andrew Jackson finished 4 th in his weight class.

Kennett lost its season opener to Chichester 46-24.Freshman Kevin Bowens, David Turner and Sophmores Victor Ortega and Austin Eckel participated in their first varsity matches. The Blue Demons earned falls from Kyle Bove, Ricci Thompson and Tim Curtis. Chris Body and Andres Avalos earned wins for Kennett.
