2009.01.22 - Update

Kennett Middle School vs. Great Valley

The Kennett mat-men got off to a great start against visiting Great Valley, taking the first 7 matches before dropping their first one.  In all Kennett won 8 of the 12 matches wrestled, but as has been all season long we forfeited 5 weight classes giving up 30 points.  The Blue Demons dropped to a 4 and 5 record, losing to Great Valley by the score of 38 to 52.  

Pins were collected by Bobby Bender, Todd Hoopes, Josh Massi, and Brenden Bowens, while Tristian Dicicco, Alberto Beltran, Warren Giza-Sisson, and Colton Chew earned decisions. 

Friday the team travels to Unionville to face local rival Patton middle school.  Good Luck guys!

2009.01.20 - Update

Kennett Middle School Action through 1/18/09

The wrestling team suffered two losses this week.  As the team began the toughest part of it's schedule, they could not afford any let downs.  With an already small squad in numbers, the team lost a few key wrestlers due to a couple of personal matters. 

Tuesday vs. Lionville:  Of the 12 matches wrestled the Blue Demons took six of those, but with the 6 forfeits they fell by a score of 33 to 72.  David Bish, Todd Hoopes, Josh Massi, Colten Chew and Zac Cupec recorded pins for Kennett, while Warren Giza- Sesson won by decision.  

Thursday vs. Peirce:  The Blue Demons tried to fill some holes in the line up with a couple of JV wrestlers.  The more experienced Peirce team proved to be to much for Kennett,  as they took 6 out of 11 matches along with 5 forfeits.  The Blue Demons went down by a score of 27 to 57.  Pins by Warren Giza-Sesson, Josh Massi, Brenden Bowens, and Brandon Ropp were recorded for Kennett, along with a tough won decision by Colton Chew. 

The team will readjust and be ready for Great Valley, which comes to Kennett next Wednesday.  The team is now an even .500 with a 4 and 4 record.  Keep up the good fight guys!

2009.01.12 - Update

Kennett vs. Chi-Chester - 1/9/09

The Middle School Wrestling Team put on a dazzling display of disruption for the visiting Silver Eagles of Chi-Chester on Friday afternoon.  All but two wrestlers moved up a weight class to avoid giving up 36 points, due to forfeits.  The Blue Demons rose to the challenge and won every match, dismantling Chi-Chester's line up.  Kennett had 9 pins by David Bish, Emmit Devlin, Tristian Diccico, Bobby Bender, Todd Hoopes, Warren Giza-Sesson, Josh Massi, Zac Cupec,and Brenden Bowens, one decision by Colton Chew and two forfeits collected by Alberto Beltran and Brandon Ropp.  Also Henry Gaver pinned his opponent.  The final score was 69 to 30, the team is 4 and 2 with two very tough matches scheduled for this week.  Tuesday at Lionville and Friday home against Peirce.

Chichester Tournament - 12/13/08

On December 13th the KMS Wrestling team traveled to Chichester to participate in an eight team tournament.  The Blue Demons finished 3rd overall.  Place winners for KMS were:

On December 11th the KMS Wrestling team (1-1) traveled to Stetson Middle School for a dual meet.  KMS won the meet 57 to 33.

Lampeter Strausburg - 12/6/08

The Kennett Middle School Blue Demon Wrestling Team traveled to Lampeter Strausburg for a twelve team wrestling tournament.  The Blue Demons finished fifth overall!
